Loomis NRX have no equal in sensitivity but are more than twice the $.

For $200, the Duckett White Ice 7'3" H Pete Ponds is a good, sensitive alternative.

I agree with the NRX. You never see people selling them...

I don't know what the most sensitive rod in the $250 range is, most of the rods I have in that price
Range are very similar. And pretty sensitive, nothing like an NRX though. I love mine and wish I had a few more.

Beware of people that speak in absolutes.

Phenix K2 and North Fork Composite HM blanks are easily on par with the NRX but fall outside your price range.

For a production rod the 13 Envy line are pretty outstanding. I much preferred it to the old Dobyns DX line.

I'm sure there are other rods that are equal in sensitivity to the NRX, I just don't own one. I have mega bass rods, falcon, Duckett, other G Loomis rods, etc. I also have a power tackle rod that is about as sensitive as the NRX. But to me the NRX is the most sensitive I can feel my way through little sticks and stumps or piles of sticks in deeper water and not get hung up when dragging a jig or a T rig with my other rods I tend to get hung up more or set the hook unnecessarily. But that's just been my experience.

They still make the G-Loomis GL3, new they run around $230.00. Bought my first in 1995 then they started the IMX series soon after, then so on...They are worth the money and weigh little to nothing, very addicting once you realize you can hold them 8 to 10 hours a day and never feel sore. Just my opinion!

Probably wiser to beware of someone arguing someone else's subjective opinion to a question requiring a subjective opinion.

I think you should look into the Amistad special. These rods are fantastic rods. They are probably the lightest rods on the market, but yet they're super durable and sensitive. This rod could easily pass a $300+ rod. The Amistad special is a great worm rod and it has enough finesse for casting and power for getting those fish out of heavy cover. I definitely recommend this rod!

Think outside the box and try a Bushido. You can try one for free at Reel Time Rods. If you don't like it no harm no foul. The only way to know anything about other rod blanks is by feeling them for yourself, this allows you to do just that without commitment to buying. The lifetime warranty is also a testament to the quality of the rod.

All good rods in the $200-250 range are more than sensitive enough. Pay extra for quality of workmanship, better components, warranty and if domestically made (if that is important to you).

This basically. At that range any blank you get will be as sensitive as you will ever need it to be. That said I'll throw my hat in the ring. I like the Denali Lithium Series .

A Dobyns 734 in the Champion series is my favorite rod of all time. There is always one on deck with Texas rigged soft plastic, always. Balance, light, sensitive, it just feels good throwing worms all day. Nice thing about this rod is it is great at lots of techniques but really shines when casting, flipping or casting plastics. Best all around/do anything rod I own. I would go with the 735 or 736 if I was always throwing larger jigs or BIG plastics constantly but for daily soft plastics it shines. Hey, it even costs a penny less than $250! :-)

Impulse rods has the most sensitive I have fished. Impulserods.com. Look into their 7'6" line.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!!!
