Does anyone know of any lakes in the area that you can fish late in the evening/night without having to leave cause of hours or are fee based just for fishing? I've been to Lavon, Hubbard and Lewisville where you have to pay for day use or had to leave due to park hours! Guess you have to pay for camping to stay late into the night to fish?

Also looking for fishing partners.. bank fisher here, no boat!

Most parks, unless for day use only, leave the exit gates open at night. You can get out but you'll tear up your tires trying to get back in.

I haven't bank fished for quite some time now, but there should be a number of places at Hubbard to do so. We used to fish the Forney bridge area on the SE end of Hubbard, then I know a lot of people fished around Miller Road and off of hwy66 as well. Many years ago I used to park in the apt complex there at Chaha Rd (now Bass pro drive I think) and walk across the road to access the lake, where I would wade around the point to a nice weed-bed between that point and Captain's Cove Marina where there was some nice bass fishing to be had. Not sure of access restrictions now, but that area is on the main lake and might provide some good bank fishing.

A little more of a drive east, Tawakoni should have quite a few places to access (check the catfishing section, I know there is a thread there about bank fishing Tawak). I know of a boat ramp area accessed by the road into holiday marina that is open access. Holiday will charge you to fish ($5 I think), and I'm not aware that they would run you off at any particular time.

It sounds like you are having problems with parks, might be time to explore some other public access areas like public boat ramps, bridge areas and the like. Unfortunately, you never really know what kind of problems you'll find in those places until you try them out. My experience back in the day was, I might get run off from a place even if it wasn't posted in any way, but it was usually a pretty drama free encounter given that I was just fishing and not causing other types of trouble.

Oh, and you might try the bank fishing section of this forum as well.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
