Why y'all throw back a nice bass? Crappie snobs? I say equal skillet time for all fish.

I'm with Ernest...

I like catching a ditch pickle occasionally, getting my picture taken with the beautiful fish, and putting them back.

I'm after Crappie.

I remember one Spring on Lake Fork we were after the Crappie, and the bass guys were after the bass.
My Dad dropped down by a stump and WHAMO a huge female bass loaded with eggs. We took several pics with her.
We put her back in the water and two guys in a bass boat nearly stroked out that we let her go.
The funny thing was all the bass guys were catching Crappie that day and the bass kept hitting our lines.
It was actually pretty comical.

I just think those bass are too pretty to keep.

I know they eat a lot of Crappie, but I also know there are plenty of Crappie for all.

I see big fat firm white fillets, not a ditch pickle.

I catch them often fishing for Crappie at Fork. They sure like crappie minnows. I never keep them because the slot rules are so complicated I feel I need legal council to legally take one at fork. We need to go back to the rule "Over 12 inches and into the ice". That's the way it works for crappie. When I flatten their tail those crappie better pray it does not touch that 10 inch mark.

The Slot Limits are the reason Fork is one of the best Bass Fishing Lakes in the United States.
