Went to fish behind my house this afternoon and the River is full of Dead Stripers. Hundreds. Dead fish floating as far as I could see up river towards the dam and down river. Sickening sight. They shut the release off yesterday and then started releasing again today. Every dead fish i saw was a striper. It is sickening to me. The Brazos River Authority knows that once they stop flow that there will be a huge fish kill so why not figure out a way to harvest prior to shut down? I realize Birds, Turtles, etc., etc. will eat many of them but you would think they would want to get the fish for folks in need of food. I hate to see people fish illegally and harvest more than the legal limits but it seems kind of silly when the BRA's actions kill this many fish and it is perfectly OK.

That sucks. Kind of like what the federal gov does to red snapper when they blow up an oil rig.

All sportsman should unite. We should take back our freedoms to fish in areas that should of never been took and should put manageing those areas back to Texas Parks and Wildlife. Not agencies that work for their own profit. Why is it that areas behind dams are closed to fishing. Yet those same areas are fished by those that work there or at big lakes in other states they are open. I hate the word safety as a excuse. Its not it is the word use so often to take our freedoms. Water districts do the same thing. They manage for there profits and sportsman are the loser even thought we are the ones that paid for it.

Well behind the dam at lake livingston it was blocked off for over 100 yds because of a lawsuit. They don't want to get sued. So if you can rid the world of idiots and ignorant boaters your problem will be solved.

Lakes were not built for you and I to fish in. They are for water conservation and management. The fishing part is just a byproduct of that. Get used to it ............

FYI a goverment agency is expempt for lawsuits. So you are misinformed and since sportsmans funds from the Wright Pitman Act were part of what pays for the construstion of the lakes. The Sportsman should be part of the management consenderation. Plus to limit access is a control issue not safety
