Wife mad cause I never bring home fish on my bass tournament trips. Can some one give me a small bit of help on catching some on rod and reel. Maybe the complaining will stop if I get some cats to eat

For #s of channels 1-5# use a quality punch bait ( pick a brand , Ford vs Chevy ) use a slip bobber rig in shallow flooded timber , flooded brush , wind blown points , rocky shorelines . If possible chum w range cubes or soured ( preferable ) 3-5 spots. Fish 1st spot 15-20 mis if no bites move to spot # 2. & repeat you will seldom get to spot # 5 without a limit. For larger channels use same techniques except fish on bottom or just off of bottom in deeper water with flooded timber or creek channels add fresh cut shad & bluegill to your bait selection. As channels age and grow they switch their diet to fish and cut baits rule, however there you will usually sacrifice qantity for quality.

For blues drift/ drag shallow mud flats early with fresh shad / bluegill and move to deeper water later in the morning move out to deeper structure .

Don't be afraid to anchor on creek bends , deep water humps , depth changes etc

GL & post some pics
