Maybe a long shot, but we are going to visit my in-laws in Fayetteville this weekend and I'm looking for some advice. We are going to camp or float (water is too low to float the Buffalo) but we are going to do some hiking.

I'd like to catch my first smallmouth. Any suggestions on where to go to bank fish in that area? They live near the White River and Lee's Creek at Devil's Den State Park. We will probably try both those areas.

Years ago when I was going to school there I waded the middle fork of the White River between Devil's Den and Fayetteville. I used a light action rod with 4 lb. test line and a 2 in curl tail grub on a 1/16th oz. jig head. Caught smallmouth, largemouth, goggle eye and all kinds of bream.

Thank you for using your first post to answer me. welcome

I might give that a shot. My in laws live near Twin Bridges on the White. I may also drive up to the King River, after doing a little research.
