Got a customer coming in that wants to fish the hill country area of Texas. I know nothing about this type of fishing but wanted to figure out a way to point him in the right direction. Any good areas I can suggest to him that he can go and have some fun and catch some fish? Also, any suggestions on fly types would be appreciated also.

Thanks!!

Call Martin Pursch at Contry FlyFisher Shop in Fredericksburg at 830-990-9453. He can point your customer in the right direction and help him with flies for the area. Great guy and helped us out when we fished the Llano River a month or so ago. If your customer is interested in fishing the Llano, I can send you a PDF file of what we did; if you like.

All fly fisherman beware the llano is not safe. A guy from round Victoria died from the river last week. Please go to the Guadalupe! If you do go to the llano whatever you do do not fish yellow hoppers in tan or large tan or yellow poppers! Remember safety first and do not throw them as tight to the deeper banks as you can. Thanks

Whatever lambcotx.....

Hook'em79,

Not sure what lambcotx is rambling about. There is no report of flesh eating bacteria on the Llano, in fact I have friends that were there last weekend, caught plenty of fish and no skin falling off. Anyway, Llano is merely a suggestion of a beautiful place to catch fish; there are plenty of other rivers in the hill country. Just reach out to Martin, he can help your friend out.
