A very long time ago I heard that bass lures, some of them, were being used for trout and vice versa. Has anyone here used them on trout?

I have caught trout on spooks and rattl traps. Also have caught reds on spooks, spinnerbaits. Pop rs and rattl traps.

Squarebill crankbaits and chatterbaits were all the rage on the redfish tour a couple years ago. May still be. I've caught trout and reds on Zara Spooks, bass swimbaits and bass assassin lures.

I caught a 37" lake trout last week on a Stike King 2Tap. Red eye shad.

In all....I caught five Canadian Master Angler Award fish last week....every last one was caught on "bass lures". Rattle traps and willow leaf spinners. Caught hundreds of fish. About 60 were close to trophy size. Five made it.

i caught this trout march 2015 off the texas coast with a jerk bait, it was working for bass so i figured it would work for a trout since they're both predatory fish, and i was right 32.5" and a memory for a lifetime.

For Specs I had good luck using Bass Assasin plastics minnow Green Pumpkin w/ chartreuse tail and Johnson Silver Spoon . For Reds Gold Spoons worked best.

Haha. Yes it did. It honestly took me 20 minutes to get it to the boat and into the landing net. It would come close.....then run for 50 yards. Rinse repeat.

When it was netted, the lure fell out of its mouth and the leader had become unsnapped. Lol. It was a small miracle. From that fish forward, I ditched the leader and went straight 65lb power pro and reknotted a lot. The Big Northern Pike were fun....but the Trout was the most fun I've had with a fish in a long time.

We drifted chartreuse culprit worms on jig heads for years over the oyster reefs at Sabine lake. Still a deadly tactic when they are on the reef before spawning. Spooks and rattletraps are a mainstay for trout too
