First off, welcome to Texas and to TFF. The Navionics Platinum or Nav+ are great cards for bottom contours or for marked boat lanes, most that are marked with bouys show up well, but as mentioned there are a few different chips out there you can download to your unit that will drop waypoints or trails on the unmarked lanes. The Lance Vick or the Tommy Martin cards are a couple of the favorites that are used and work very well and since it downloads to your unit, it can overlay on top of you Navionics mapping.

Welcome to Texas and the TFF! I moved here 26 years ago from Wisconsin. Would never move back (well maybe for the summer but not the rest of the year)! I live in Allen (hence the name). I primarily fish East Texas lakes and have a 2012 BassCat Cougar. We should hook up sometime and fish.

Welcome, when you get a chance come down to Lake Fork and give it a shot.
Remember to drink a lot of fluids when out on the water. It gets real hot here.

I bought the navionics platinum but still saw on there while looking at Lewisville "STANDING TIMBER" in 30fow.. How is a guy suppose to navigate around these places without sinking a boat or even worse, hurting yourself?! There is standing timber at Fork in water a lot deeper than 30 feet. You just have to be careful and not run when you don't know where you are. The fiberglass repair guys around here love the lakes.

Allen Bass Fisher, let's do it man. When/If my Z21 gets fixed we can rotate boats, other than that I will cover half of everything! I'm positively sure the fiberglass boys love it out here, plenty of job security!! Corey Stanley, thanks for the other name as well man!

Thanks gents! That bass bug may bite ya in Indy but it's sure hard to find the itch sometimes! I caught my PB a 7.2lb on Monroe during a BFL. Didn't get down there to fish them at all this year but I guess they were on fire pre-spawn. My big question for these lakes out here is NAVIGATION. I bought the navionics platinum but still saw on there while looking at Lewisville "STANDING TIMBER" in 30fow.. How is a guy suppose to navigate around these places without sinking a boat or even worse, hurting yourself?! Yep, be careful on the lakes with timber until you know your way around. You would think it's fine to run up the middle of Lewisville from the new dam to the old dam at the current level, but there are a ton of trees out there in the middle. You've got to run the sides on that part of the lake.

Mike, not sure it will be this summer but I will certainly let you know when I make it out that way! Thanks gents! Welcome, Keenan! Let me know how the boat issues work out, I sure hope nitro takes care of you. And I guess you were correct about the prediction, I just saw your message on BBC I'll keep you posted and yeah, I saw that coming from a mile away. Flat out ridiculous.
