RC in June can sometimes be tough as the fish transition from the easy deep water Spring Slab bite to the sometimes Top Water and shallow water Slab bite. This has not been the case this June! A thermocline has set in and we caught almost all our fish from 15' or less this past week. Adam and I fished a combined ten trips Monday thru Saturday and had limits of nice Sandies on most of them. Several of the "Family/Kiddo" trips resulted in nice boxes of fish but limits was not the focus on these trips. It's all about the Family Time and Kids doing their thing! We're still tying the jig above the RSR Slab ( www.rsrlures.com ) and catching them two at a time as the schools move through the area. The fish are on the move most mornings and you may catch 10 or 12 and then they are gone!!! Pick up the TM and find them again! Our best areas have been Points, Humps and Ridges off the Creek Channels in depths from 10' to 15'. There's also been some early AM Top water action but we've stayed with the Slab bite most of the trips. Too easy!!! We have one boat open several days over the upcoming Holiday...July 1, 2, & 4. If interested, give us a call and We'll Go Fishin'!

Are you jigging the slabs or casting and cranking them in?
Dusty Rivers "nothing matters while on the lake"- except hidden tree top :-)

Mostly jigging unless we get a little bait being pushed to the top.

Best advice I can give you if you are fishing RC this Holiday Weekend is to "go shallow" if you're fishing slabs or even if you're a troller. There's few if any Main Lake fish being caught ( Pelican Island, Deep Water Flats, etc. ) and if you do find them, they're suspended and harder to get to bite. The best bite has been on Points, Humps, Drop Offs in less than 20' and often in water less than 15'. There's been a couple of days of Top Water activity but nothing consistent and with the additional traffic this Weekend, I'm guessing there will only be the early AM and right before dark schooling. We're still limiting most days on nice size Sandies but we're making 20 mile round trips up the Creeks and working the shallow water. For those looking for Hybrids, might want to go to Cedar Creek or Tawakoni as we've all but given up on them on RC. If anyone is looking for a trip this Holiday, we still have one boat open on Friday. We could save you a lot of time and gas if you want to know where to find them! Good Luck and Good Fishin'!
