Headed to Lake Buchanan next week. Looking for cats, crappie, or sandies. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am planning a trip to Buchanan in mid July, I also have never fished there and would like to know some tips/tactics for whites.

For whites look for any humps in 20-30 feet of water. For Hydrids and Stripers 20-30 in the flooded willows. I don't fish for cats but the north end seems to be real popular with jugs.

Brandon, do you ever do crappie? Like if stripers/hybrids are just completely off, could you switch to crappie as an alternative?

I don't really fish for Crappie. If stripers turn off I usually resort to beer. But a good friend of mine is a crappie guide and does extremely well. I am not sure what all the flooded willows are going to do as far as crappie fishing goes but It has to be beneficial.
