Fished Bastrop today. Was pretty slow and not worthy of a report. Thunderstorm coming in fast around 10 AM. Ran to boat ramp to get off of the lake. Once I got there, I see two blue inflatable boats parked on the ramp filled with kids and a few adults sitting/standing around. A guy was waiting to recover his boat. Not going to mention the stupidity of even considering going out with kids with the approaching weather.
I get my my truck and pull up behind the guy waiting. I shut my truck off and go down to where the two inflatables are blocking the ramp. I ask, "Who is in charge?" Cue puzzled look from all adults in the area. A guy speaks up and says he is and they are having a family reunion. Great for you bro. I told him these boats must be moved immediately as dangerous weather is coming in an we need to recover our boats. Also, people are waiting to recover their boats. Everyone can see 5 to 6 boats running in toward the launch area to get off the water.
Strangely enough, the guy was like "Oh, sorry." The boats get pulled into the grass and the guy in front of me gets his boat out and I quickly recover my boat and pull beside him. While we are getting our boats road ready, I asked him why he did not go say something to get those people off the ramp? He simply said he is not like that. My question is, what is like that?
Things that make you go hmmmmm....
