No sir just my fingers. If I had the little tool so I could go over the head I could probably get them tighter. Most of the videos and stuff I looked at suggested that little tool but said it wasn't necessary

Doing a great job, have always though one of a kind or few of a kind jigs is a good way to go. Some of those jigs you are doing would sure make good spinner jigs but you may need to drop the size blade down to a 0 or 1, so to cut back on the flash some. Good work

Cowboytex...are you using a single edge razor blade to do trim those with? They work really well and make it easy too!

It is definitely a skill which takes some practice. I was thinking a steamer / spun hair jig for speckled trout. I have some 1/8 long shank 2/0 Owners that I painted upside down that I am practicing with.

I am guessing that you spin the 2 colors on opposite sides of the hook and then twist the hair to get that affect?

I do the initial trim with scissors then. I actually shave with a safety razor so I use those blades to clean them up

Looks like your set! I spin the foist later. When it gets to bottome I put my finger on top to keep it from spinning further, cinch down and add a couple wraps. Then I put the next layer on top, wrap twice and cinch. I either never let go or put a finger on top to keep it from spinning. Repeat for however many layers you want in that section. Hope that makes sense bud I'm new to it also. I'm sure there are some here that are being quiet that could better explain. Also YouTube stacking deer hair. You can spend hours watching. There are s few different techniques just like tying chenille and feathers.

Meant double edge...not single edge...DOH...



Try using double edge blades...you can snap them in half and/or you can bend them as they're very flexible which helps with trimming the hair...
Get them at the dollar store .... much cheaper!

Yes sir, that's what goes in a safety razor. I have a 100 count box for my razor and I just steal from it. Works like a champ! I do like that you can bend them to get a even curved edge
