so got me a new Ike series cranking rod 7'10" mh abu garcia, now i need a reel to match it. I have a couple of green shimano curado's 200G5 5.5:1 that i really like for my 1.5 and 2.5's. i'm gonna pull one of those off and my falcon buccoo and put it on new rod for 6 and 10xd's hopefully that will work if it doesn't whats a good reel to match it with.
thanks for all your responses! May your next LMB be your new personal best. Jeff

If you like lews reels, the BB1 would be good.

On the 6XD and 10XD your going to want a reel with more capacity. I throw with an Orra Winch. It has been a solid reel and wont break the bank. The Revo Winch and Lews BB2 are other good options.

If you like lews reels, the BB1 would be good. +1 I have one on a 7-11 Duckett and one on an 805 Dobyns for throwing deep cranks.

I have to set ups for the 10 XD's one has a Shimano Curado 5.5-1 the other is a Lews Super Duty 6.3-1
The Lews holds more line, both cast a mile, but the 5.5 makes cranking so much easier.

I still use the old 200B5 reels for my cranking, they are 5.1:1 gear ratio and almost indestructible. I do not have any 200G reels, but I have heard good things about them. One of those should work wonderfully well for your deep divers. As mentioned, the Lews BB1 (in 5.1:1 ratio) is also another good alternative. The Revo Winch is a 5.4:1 reel and I like my slower reels better. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Abu Garcia Orra 2 Winch I highly recommend the Abu Garcia Orra 2 Winch. This reel will hold a lot of line. For under $100, you won't find a better cranking reel out there. These reels are super tough, lightweight, and super smooth. Can't go wrong with one of these.
