Did ok til the heat came. All on pearltruse slab bandits. Water was a scorching 89 degrees. Thermocline had set in at 12 ft. All were caught about 6ft down on standing timber.

You can see it very clearly on the Fishfinder. Everything under 12ft is hazy and speckled. Turn your sensitivity up if you aren't seeing it. May have pics from waypoints today. I'll post it if I do.

Ya done good pilgrim. Thanks for the good report....I was just thinking that's it's been a long time since I tried that lake. Those Naconiche crappie are some of the prettiest I've ever seen.

I agree. Never seen that coloration anywhere else.

Found a snapshot from marking a piece of brush. It's not the best pic, but you can see it.

See the area between the black water column and the bottom? That fuzzy hazy area? That's the thermocline. They'll sit just above it when it gets this hot.

Jacob, thanks for the pic explaining the thermocline. I have the HB 999 for a couple of years now, and I cannot remember ever seen a thermocline in the lakes here west of Ft Worth. Now that I know what to look for I will keep my eyes open.
