Took my brother and his buddy out yesterday afternoon. Hit the water about 5:30 and decided it was too windy to crappy fish. We went looking for sandbass for probably 1.5 - 2 hrs and just couldn't find them. Right before we were leaving our last spot I marked a school of hybrids on the side scan in 11 FOW. I told them to cast left and my brother immediately hooked up. By the time I got the boat turned around spot lock on they were gone.

After throwing the skunk overboard we were all a little happier, we looked for that school for a little bit but they had busted up and it was just 1 here 1 there and moving fast.

Now the wind had died down to a semi manageable level and we were leaving our hybrid spot I said "Good Lord look at that brush pile!" We had to fish it. It was in about 20 FOW with no wind protection whatsoever but it was huge and it looked loaded. And it was. With SLABS! Now, we didn't catch a whole lot of fish yesterday due to the wind, but I just found my new favorite brush pile! All the keepers yesterday came off this pile. I lost 1 nice one when he flopped off the deck after I dropped him. I think only 1 throw back came off this pile. They got lock jaw after we jerked about 10 out of it so we moved on. Stopped at a few brush piles and only caught a couple dinks and it was getting dark so we loaded up and headed home. Not great numbers but we made up for it in size and managed to take quite a few pictures for once.

That one on the tape is just over 15" not sure if he was the biggest but big enough. And that is a 18" hybrid for reference

On another note if anyone is looking for a pit crew give us a holler. Had a tire come apart on the trailer on the way home. We changed that sucker in 6 minutes flat! thumb

Nice slabs! Always fun to find a new loaded pile. Seems to make the crappie addiction even worse every time that happens. I found a pile like that about a year ago and ended up meeting the guy that put it out several months later. Have been habitat improvement buddies ever since.

We fought the wind all morning but it was worth it. Only caught one hybrid on a pile so that was a plus.

Those are good looking jigs! I might hafta learn how to tie em someday. I don't have enough time to get em wet right now so tying em is way off for now!! thumb

Man, those are some monsters, for sure.

Is it just me or does it look like a second jighead sticking out of this fish's gullet???

Yeah we did. I gotta find out when Slew's comin back and either hitch a ride or pull some covert super spy maneuvers and follow him around ninja roflmao

Those crappie are still finding what they want to feed on. Glad to see the feather jigs are doing well there also.
