Tonights trip left Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass with winds gust in the Rockport Port Aransas and Aransas Pass TX area close to 30 not ideal at all for flounder gigging charters. First thing I told the clients was be ready to earn every fish. Low tide and high wind not a flounder gigged best combination of conditions plus with lots of fresh water in the bays. Mother nature has given me a challenge armed with with new Led under lights costing almost 1500 bucks it's time to see what these babies can do. Off to the middle of the flats we went and I hit the switch to turn on the new LEDs and it looked like national Lampoon's Christmas. Working the deep sand pockets we pluck our 25 by 1130 to my amazement. With all the fresh water all flounder were hanging in about 3 feet of water sometimes 4. Give me a buzz and let's go gigging. Well it looks like 1130 was the magical hour again to finish up. 4 people and 4 flounder gigging limits 4 very happy clients. All the fish were in the grass not one on the sand working the middle of the flats turning circles got the job done.
