Hey guys, brand new to the forum but was wondering if there were some good spots in or near Carrollton farmers branch area for LMB? I can't find any places that aren't just super pressured. Thanks in advance

That's because ALL the water there is fished. You have to go outside there to have good consistent locations.

Rawhide creek, once it clears up, is an AMAZING black bass fishery. From the Library on Webb Chapel to City Hall, it is chock full of fat healthy bass. The guys I work with at Home Depot go there on lunch breaks, catch a few, and come back to work! Don't get hung up on whether the water is deep enough, or "fishy looking" enough to hold fish. They are there!

There are a couple of places. There are two ponds at Jackson and Old Denton. Have caught bass, blue gill, and have seen people catch carp/catfish. Easy to get to. Good for kids as well.

Josey Ranch. Josey and Keller Springs. Have caught bass and crappie here. Have seen catfish caught from the west pond. Again, easy to get to.

The trinity river at LBJ and Luna is not bad. Too high and full of trash right now, but have caught bass and crappie here. Farther down they catch some big catfish, just south on Luna.

I've fished those ponds on old Denton and Jackson a couple of times and it's kinda hit or miss but I still go since it's so close haha. The one at the library I've just never caught a fish but I'll try the trinity spot when it clears up, thanks for the advice

Yup, I've been fishing at the Josey ranch a lot lately and have been catching a ton. I use a senko on the side of the lake nearest the apartments and stuff and have caught 2 4/5 pounders! There is a guy there who drop shots and catches them pretty good as well

You should try Furneaux Creek where it runs under Frankford rd. there are some nice bass hanging out there. Also, there is a pond just south of there along the creek that always has bass. It's all easy to get to because of the Carrollton Blue Trail runs along the creek. You can fish he same creek where it runs under Josey Ln. but its so full of sun fish it's hard to get past then to get to the bass hanging out in the shadows. I will second Rawhide Creek near the library, south bank right by he library down to the play ground holds fish. Lots of ducks and turtles but they are in there. Good luck and let us know what you catch.
