Please explain to me the best way to fish a jig in 25 ft. of water. Are you dragging it like a Carolina rig or hopping it? Just trying to learn a new technique.

Yes to both. The fish will tell you which one is better that day.

Don't be shy of hopping a Carolina rig either.

This!!! I hardly drag a carolina rig. Im typically hopping it. Drag the first couple casts to feel the bottom and possible structure and then hop after you know where and what it is

All of the above. drag it, hop it, hop hop pause it, stroke it, hop hop swim it, hop drag hop it. Endless ways until they bite it!

I don't do either. I keep my Rod tip down, and turn the reel handle painfully slow sometimes stopping it completly then barley turn the handle again keeping constant cotact with the bottom, and only every "hop" if I get stuck on structure.

Drag it sometimes and hop it sometimes. A team tournament my partner and I fished early this year I was getting bit dragging a c-rig and my partner wasn't hopping a c-rig. Later in the day my bite went away and my partners bite hopping turned on. So I think you have to let the fish tell you what they want.

There are not too many things in life I enjoy more than dragging a jig in 20' of water and then getting a strike. Almost as good as, well, you know.

Come to Tennessee and fish the Tennessee River lakes....ledges 40'......3/4-1.5 oz tungsten football head jigs are a must...leave the mono at home...fc or braid for sensitivity....drag....hop....stroke....depends on the bass....if there is current....they'll hit just about any technique....if no current.....slow drag....

Almost as good as a top water bite????

It's not what a man knows that bothers me. It's what a man "KNOWS" that ain't necessairly so that has me conserned.
