I have not fished Amistad much and would like any help/advice that you guys might want to share. We are headed down Thursday and will be staying at Rough Canyon. Thanks in advance!!

Coming toward the main lake from Rough Canyon about 1 mile, you will find several small feeder creeks on both sides of the river channel. I like to fish the lips of these creeks out to deep water.

Start about 100 yards before you get to the creek and drag a light C-Rig with a Baby Brush Hog. There will be lots of brush under the boat in 12 ft. of water. One can cast a T-Rig with same bait or Senko toward the shallows while the one in the back drags. Do the same thing on both sides of each small creek and into the mouth of each creek. Bass want to be close to that deeper water now unless you find some grass in the larger creeks on the WEST side of the river. Look for grass all the way in the back of those. I work this pattern all the way out to Millers Cove area which is on the EAST side of the river. The creeks in the back of Millers has also been good producers for grass and Bass.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

The first set of trees off the first break are holding fish, you can run this whole pattern 35 miles down the lake right now with a 9 in zoom mag worm Texas rigged. The fish aren't that big but I can assure you plenty of bites.
