My 20 yr old GE carving set is about to give out. Can't find one anywhere. What's a good quality alternative?

Tournament choice at Academy does catfish like they are nothing. So Crappie are a breeze.

+ 1,0000 ! This is the only knife to use if you clean a lot of fish. Expensive, but well worth it. I went through 6 other brands burning them out before I found this one. I use this exact knife and blade that Ross recommended. I use the bigger version of that blade on Hybrid/striper. Works great!! PS You might be able to find a package deal with the knife and 5 or 6 blades if you look around on-line.

Thanks for the info. I have never found an actual electric filet knife that was any good. The motors seem to burn out in less than a year. I'll research both recommendations.

I use the Rapala cordless with lithium battery. Its light, plenty of power and have cleaned over 100 without recharging.

I've been using the same Electric Fisherman for about 12 years.

I wonder if it's hit or miss on individual knives, because I had the cheap green and yellow Electric Fisherman that lasted for years, then in the past four years have gone through two of those and the Rapala corded. The Rapala I'm using now wants to stay on all the time.
I'm going to pull the trigger on that American Angler, I think. Wish I'd have known this a week before Father's Day! Now it's going to be yet another Amazon Prime purchase that falls under the "Dad's at it again" category.

Ditto to Bobcat1, I use the same thing, they last a long time, handle much better than my $40 Rapella, and a lot cheaper to just replace it.

Orange American Angler and a shark blade is the best I've ever used.

I have had my Mister Twister Saltwater and Freshwater Piranha have cleaned loads of fish with it, it doesn't bottom out on me. I have yet to sharpen the blades and it still hasn't slowed down. Not cheap but so far its been worth it.

I bought one of those black and decker ones and used it today. Made it through 2 fish and the motor gave out. I think these things are a [censored] shoot.
