Thanks for all the replies!! There is a lot of good information there. It sounds like I can do three things to improve my situation:

1. Get a fin to plane quicker.
2. Get a lower pitch prop.
3. Get a ski pylon thingamajig.

I like all those ideas and also like the contraption from Academy that moves the rope back behind the motor with pool noodles to float it (if pylon not used).

I know the Ranger 520vx I had rode much flatter than the Skeeter. I didn't test how slow it would ride on plane before I sold it. Anyone running a newer Ranger that has pulled a tube really slow for the kids? At this age, mine would freak out at 30 mph. smile

Different prop designs also give you either more bow lift or more stern lift depending on the number and size and design of the blades, the boat and the motor. The prop guys on here can tell you more about what is needed to get the front down.

pick up a High Five prop. It will kill your top end, buy will flat tow those tubes and run flat. Go down 2 pitch sizes from what you normally run.

Don't give up too much top end with the new prop. You still want to be able to discourage them from such nonsense by slingshotting them off into a watery cartwheel in tight corners.

I pulled tubes for many years with a BassCat PII with a 200 and a BassCat Cougar with a 225. Used a four bladed prop I think it was a 25 pitch. I towed in the low to upper 20's.
