Five gallon bucket with lid, fill with corn to 3/4, add water to cover, one package of yeast, one can of beer. Stir it up good, cover with lid, set it out in sunny area. Check occasionally to be sure water is to the top. About a week should get it there, longer is better

Don't use corn.
I have always heard that catfish can't digest corn and it can kill smaller cats if it gets into their intestines, because they can't pass it.
I don't know if this is correct or not, but I always use smaller grain.
2/3 bucket of grain and cover grain with about 4-5 inches of water. Put lid loosely on bucket and set in sunny area. In this heat it should be ready in a week.

we always used wheat...course we were custom harvesters so we always had leftover wheat n the truck bed...whatever is cheapest...if u hava feed store, get their busted sacks of grain...i got 2 bags of pig/sheep feed free cuz they got wet...price was right...catfish don't care as long as it STINKS

I've always just added water. I've never had to add yeast , but that might speed it up by a day or two. One of my old customers ( RIP Mr Mayes ) claimed wheat was the best.

People use a wiffle ball bat with the end cut off to sling out the chum, just put in in the end and slog it out there, if you want something long term sitting out there is say a bucket with holes in it with a marker line attached so you can retrieve it, or something biodegradable such as a potato sack with chum in it

Another vote for sour wheat. In this weather water is about all you need to add. It will get nasty quick. I have 10 gallons ready behind the shed and the wife gets livid about it when she is mowing back there.

Milo and water and in this heat it'll be cookin' in about 3 days. A package of yeast will speed it up. Watch the water level--keep it about 2 inches above when you first set it out and give it a good stir every other day. Put the yeast in first before the milo and slowly add your water and don't stir until the second or third day.
Like TC73 said it'll get NASTY quick and you'll think someone's sewer backed up next to ya so placement is critical. If you plan on transporting it anywhere get a lid with a strong seal and if it is in transport for more than a couple of hours you had better 'release the pressure' or you will regret it and everything around it will need a good power washing.
I throw mine with a handled feed scoop that you can get at Tractor Supply or any feed store.
PS. when you throw it out realize that it is to bring fish in an not feed them their entire dinner. Cats will gorge themselves on this as well as carp so throw it out. Give yourself about 30 min. for them to come in with your bait in the middle of it and hang on!

Milo, chicken scratch, wheat, oats all work. I have even seen guys use soy beans, field peas and barley. I even put cottonseed meal in mine sometimes. I never use anything but water and grain. I have some that is going on 3 years old and it do stink but it works fast. The older and blacker the better.
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
