Fished Bridgeport from 4:00PM till about 8:00PM today. Had not been there in about 3 years so it looked weird with all the water back in it. Water color is lightly stained to stained for the most part. Actually a lot better looking than I expected. Caught a ton of fish mostly just Bridgeport keepers but had a few slots mixed in. Probably had 30-40 bites all in all so I ain't complaining. Despite the sunny skies they really seemed to be wanting moving baits. I launched at Wise County Park and started just running points with flooded cover on them in 2-6' of water.

Best baits early were a Megabass S Crank in E2 Craw and a Megabass Hazedong Shad 4.5" soft swimbait in green pumpkin shad on a 1/4oz jighead. They ate both pretty good but I got more bites on the swimbait. I just point hopped the mainlake mostly.
Later in the day I swapped to a 1/2oz white buzzbait that John Souhrada makes locally back up near Wise County Park. I focused on the flooded shallow cover and they seemed to want it crashed into the cover and then they would absolutely blow up on it. Probably had 15 or so in the last hour that way.

Saw lots of baitfish and the lake seems to be doing OK from what I saw. Fish were all healthy and fought pretty good. Its great to see it full again. Water temps were higher than I expected and were 84-88 degrees or so.

I had the same results on Sunday morning. I fished from 6am till 10am and had 40+ fish flipping willows in 3' to 5'. Only 4 overs but a ton of nice slot fish. I live 10 minute's from the lake and fish it a lot. This was the best trip out on Bridgeport I've had in a while.

Good deal. I literally am nurning that last white shad buzzbait I got from you. Its caught so many fish its crazy this past spring and into summer. It keeps on catching though and the durability is awesome. Something about the sound they make that just catches them. Will get with you soon. Got some baits for you as well.

I really figured the flipping bite would be how I would catch them but it was off for me. I kept checking it but that bite never turned on for me. I know historially any time you have water willows on Bridgeport its a given the fish are in them.

I'm going to try to hit BP either tonight or tomorrow after work, if I get home at a decent time. I've been going to Amon Carter lately, but it sounds like BP is fishing good.

Looks like it went off limits on Sunday.

That is always a great tournament. Fun and well organized. Wish I was gonna be in town or I would probably be out there.

I fished 10-2 Sunday as well. Thought I figured them out but guess several people did good. 2 overs back to back cast and 2 1/2lb spot on top of a lot of unders. Pretty much all fish had fat bellies. Lake is looking good

It is HEALTHY! The most Shad I have ever seen in 20 years here. In the last ten days....Saw a guy catch a 7.5 LMB right off my waterfront. Picked up two beautiful Spots, 2-3 pounds at the spillway points. Lost an easy 8 pounder at the boat on a Shad (mid lake hump). Finally saw a guy catch three overs in ten minutes, inside the cove where the big pink house is, NE side of lake.

The "overs", were "over" the slot limit. I saw all three fish, they looked an easy 5-7 pounds. They were "over" the slot limit so I called then "overs"
