I use "Big Marv's" punch bait out of Gillett Tx. There may be some better but this does work. I dont know the cost now but used to pay $120 for 5 gal.s.

Shure Shot, works well for me in our local lakes. It is especially good fishing under the Cormorants in the Spring.

Big Marvs, sure shot, sudden impact and j pigs are all good punch baits. If you want a amazing dough bait that doesn't smell bad but works damn good try some Stubbys.

I have used all the ones mentioned here and several others and have caught fish on most of them. I prefer the punch baits to the dough bait because it stays on the hook when casting. If your situation calls for using a weight and casting the punch bait is the way to go. I also like to get one that hold up well in summer heat without a cooler.

Just curious which baits you have found that hold up to the 100 + degree days with out the help of a cooler ?

I gotseveral tubs of Little Stinker bloody minnow last summer and it did just fine through the summer. I bought enogh for this summer when Academy closed it out at about 1.25 a pint. Mr.Whiskers is very good in heat. I used his blood flaver several years ago but havent had any in the last few years.

I believe you are talking about J-Pig punch bait if around Brownwood. It's made by Jerry Martin in Stephenville. Jerry is a great guy and I've fished with him on several occasions. He is 81 years old now but is still hammering the fish and selling his bait. Here's his contact- I also carry several other punch baits and use them regularly. Sometime I find that if I've been catching fish and then they suddenly stop I will switch punch baits. I find that all cheese based baits will work. They vary in consistency and fiber but I've caught a tons of fish on these proven baits. These photo's should give you contact info for getting whichever bait you choose. Here is a photo of me with a 50 fish, 2 man limit using J-Pig.
