Good luck and good fishing.

Are you going to be wade fishing the surf any or just the bays\jetty in your boat?

Catching a snook (on any tackle) is on my bucket list.

Jd - will do

j_hirn2 - The plan right now is to concentrate on the erea from the Cullen house north to the Arroyo. No surf fishing for me.
I have caught one snook in Texas ( in South Bay ) that weighed eight pounds but it wasn't on a fly ( gold spoon, bait casting tackle). I have caught a lot of them in Florida though on poppers and decievers.

Well, the weather called for thunderstorms today so I stayed close to port and fished South Bay. The weather turned out perfect. I saw a few Reds but couldn't get a fly in front of them - it's hard to pole the boat and fly cast alone. The forecast is for good weather the rest of the week so I'm headed for Three Islands tomorrow. But, for right now, I'm about to lay wast to a shrimp basket and an adult beverage.

Good luck bud! You beat me to water finally getting out Wednesday. I don't know but I think this is the first time I've gone a month with out fishing in memory period.

Had a good day today. Didn't catch anything but the weather was outstanding, saw a lot of Reds and a few trout, just couldn't get connected. Really wish I had someone in the front of the boat with a fly rod ready. By the time I set the push pole down and grab a rod I'm already late. Anyway, got some great video of herons catching fish, saw a lot of neat stuff on the flats ( sting rays, manta rays and a sea turtle), and when I got back to the condo my wife had fresh shrimp tacos waiting. Kind of frustrating not being able to hook anything but fun day non the less. Maybe tomorrow...

Shoot Capt. Mac, I would go pole you around, take pictures and videos of you for a shrimp basket buddy! smile

Just let me know next time you want to go, see if we can't work it out.

Another good day. Finally caught something on a shrimp fly today. Found a school of six to eight Reds, dropped the shrimp fly right in the middle of them and pulled this trout out of them. Still counts though right??? Had several opportunities at some Reds but they just wouldn't eat. Going to hit the same spot tomorrow with some different patterns.
Saw a shark about six feet long cruseing along the edge of the channel - thought about making a cast but decided against it. Saw a lot of sea turtles today too. Now I have to go eat another shrimp basket - work, work, work...
