Im surprised you haven't gotten a new boat with a 400 on it yet. LOL

Agreed. Majority of the time it's a lean out. Hard to tell on a v4 or v6. Lot easier on a 3cyl. I mix 40:1 on my 56er. Hard to compare the old nasty engines reliability to these new clean burners. Pro xs and hpdi seem to cap out at 800hrs.

I have a buddy who says he has at least 1,000 hours on his motor. He owns a Champion/Mercury and I believe it's a 96'.

There are a ton of boats along the coast with Yamahas and Mercurys that have over 1000 hours on them. I had an 01 Yamaha VMax on my bay boat and it had 600+ hours on it when I sold it 10 years ago and I know for a fact it is still running. No telling how many hours are on that thing now.
