I lost a PB catfish last Sunday. I think it's to to step it up and grab a dip net. Which one to get?

do you typically fish for channels, blues, flatheads or a combination of all three? For channels a basic one with a long handle will work but if you are catching larger fish over 20 lbs then you might want to get a big higher end net

Here is a pic of two nets that I use. The one with the gold handle is the large net that I bought at bass pro shop that cost around $52, the black one is slightly larger that was given to me for free. Both of these nets are 7' and they both telescope down for easier storage. I fish out of a boat and I prefer to target large bluecats so they work very well for me, the black one is just a backup net that I keep stored away but one cool thing about that one is that it has another tube in the handle that will extend an additional 4', this would certainly be useful if I was fishing on the bank or a pontoon boat with high sides. I've used smaller nets that worked fine but I just prefer a larger net in case I'm lucky enough to hook into a colossal someday. These may be overkill for you because I'm not familiar with your style of fishing but I would say that one good tip with a net is that when you net a good fish to always lift the fish out of the water with handle straight up and not try to pull a fish with the handle horizontal, I made that mistake with a large fish one time and it broke my net. Good luck on your search!

If you are fishing with punch bait and a treble hook use a rubber mash net.
