Sorry guys I wasn't sure where else to post this and y'all have always been extremely helpful and have much more experience than I do. So last weekend on the way home from the LTSA tournament a unlicensed driver had his wheel come off his Honda Accord, cross the median and smashed into the front of my roommates truck. We got the guys insurance information and the state trooper came out and issued the driver of the Honda a ticket and did an accident report. Honestly we were so concerned about the truck we didn't thoroughly check the boat. A checked the trailer and axle and saw no damage. I went out this morning and noticed a pretty sizable dent in my boat. I'm not sure what I should do? Do I contact his insurance? Should my roommate do it since he was towing the boat with his truck? Any advice is appreciated guys. Thanks

Your friend needs to contact his insurance company and provide them with all the information about the incident. His agent should be able to advise him of the steps necessary to fix the problem.

As an insurance agent, my advise would be to contact your boat insurer and let them take care of you. They will then go back to the other guy's company to get your deductible and the money they paid you back. No sense in waiting on 2 other insurance companies to haggle before you get your boat fixed. Sounds like a cut and dried case but I've seen these things string out for a while. Your company's records will show that you were not at fault so it should not affect you.

Alright. Thanks for the advice goes. I took the boat out today and it's still usable so I'm fortunate as far as that goes.
