I heard from a friend that Toledo Bend is having an awesome year in terms of large bass being caught is this true? I looked with a web search and did not find anything.

See the link below

May 2015 to May 2016 139 bass over 10 lbs were certified and released. They are already up to 9 since the program started over this May.

Wow thank you. That is awesome. Rayburn needs to get some of that going.

Impossible to compare the 2 lakes but plenty of people try.

Fork is 605,000 acre-feet in size. Toledo Bend is 2,236,000 acre feet in size.

I bet Fork puts out it's fair share of DD. But Toledo Bend was rated the #1 bass lake in America and Fork ranked #15. According Bassmaster article last year.

TB incentivizes 10 pounders, Fork doesn't. you won't get the same accurate reports. Especially if there is a true football (23" 10 pounder) that wouldn't be a legal fish....

Oh, yeah, size and number of anglers supported would play a huge role!

Think about this, imagine if every fish between 3lbs and 7lbs was protected on Toledo. It would rival any lake in the world imo because the small fish under 16" would get kept. lots of meat eaters on Toledo which would be a good thing. Simply can't compare a non slot lake to a slot

not trying to compare the two...just wondering because everyone is always thumping Fork, but I don't hear many DD's being caught...oh'well....

Slot too large at Fork now.....and it's not producing the size numbers TB is now. Also consider everyone kind of went to sleep on TB and "all of a sudden" it produced again. Other interesting note there are whites in TB. Fork is just in the down cycle but still lots of nice fish and it should be good in two to three years again for numbers of big fish.
