Got my butt kicked on Murvaul Lake X this morning. It was DEAD. Caught 5 fish total and only 2 keepers. Water temp was 87 degrees and I think that had a lot to do with it.

Did you bring any minnows? They really seem to help during the hottest part of summer.

I have never fished Murvaul, but the fish in this part of the world started moving off docks in the afternoon a little over a week ago. At 87 degrees, I can't help but think they are stacked up on brush out there in 12-20ft.

I will have to spend some time finding brush at that lake. I'm gonna try something closer in the morning that I already know some spots on. I'll bring you some baits when we do finally go fishing. I made up a batch of pearltreuse with my new mold for you.

+1

Not "Lake X", but we didn't do very good (on docks) in 82 degree water last week.

Didn't think about that. Probably had something to do with it. Also, they were doing the best after all the rain. I can only assume that the rain cooled the lake down a bit or at least the top few feet.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?
