This weekend was long and frustrating for me and i really wanted to get out and camp somewhere but, come saturday morning i wasent up for packing all the bedchairs and bivvy in the truck and heading east! So i stayed home and thought about where to go and decided to hit up Lake Worth with Joe.

I got there around 10 and waited for Joe as his GPS screwed up and had him going in the wrong direction. When he arrived we walked down the bank looking at all the weed and moss close in and thought it was going to be hard to net fish and possibly lose them. But we found a nice spot next to a shade tree and decided to try it.

After a hour or so we both was set up and started baiting boilies out in our swims. We have been trying out the boilie approach for a couple months now and noticed a increase in fish size and numbers. Now lake worth isnt a big fish lake but does have the odd 20lb buff here and there and the carp are smaller. I started things off with a nice buff around 12 lbs or so. After releasing that fish, it was about a hour wait till i got another take and it was a buff again, nothing huge but around the same size as before.

For the next few hours i continued to get buff after buff while joe was blanking but he wasent done yet. He switch over to some WCB panko pack with tutti fruit flavoring. after a short wait he was finally into a fish. It was the first common of the trip. Agin nothing huge but id say 8-10 lbs.

For the next few hours the fish came steady for me and him, the sun came out and it got hot and humid. There was lots of other people fishing BUT we was the only ones on that bank catching. This older guy came down and started chatting with us. He asked me what line i was using and when i said 12lb berkly big game, with a 20lb leader, i thought he was going to pass out. He kept saying are you for real 12lb line and your catching these fish. We both said yes and he said he was using some walmart line that was 14lb and could break it with ease lol. Im guessing its that omniflex line thats line 99 cents or something lol. After he left it slowed down and the sun started to go away, we watched the lightning strike in the distance and also seen care flight land in the middle of 199. I sure hope whoever was in that wreck was ok.

It was a good sunday and i might have found a new numbers lake for me when i dont feel like driving out east!

all the buffs was this size or smaller, i believe this was the biggest of the day.

Great report Chris. I have had days at Worth that were either mainly carp days or buff days with a few of each mixed in.
