Anyone have opinions on this product?

I received one as a gift and using it with my kayak. I don't have much experience with fish finders but i like the concept.

Thats pretty cool, but I could see it being like throwing out a marker buoy.....many boats descending upon it....

I've seen posts of people using it or similar units and they liked it. It has it's place. I think it is more suited for bank fishing but no reason why it wouldn't work with the kayak. You'll probably find that you'd rather have one mounted would be my guess but hey it was free.
