We hung several of these in the marina and they have been working great. They are suspended about 10' down in 25' water.

I'm thinking about doing something like that, but the water in my slip is only about 10 feet when the lake is full. Not sure it would do me much good for the effort. Thoughts?

Perfect and a lot easier to build. cut your pvc about 1' longer than the water depth. push each piece into the bottom down to water level after you have the bed laid out push each stake down 2 or 3 feet into the bottom with a larger PVC (post driver) Makes a great stake bed and no hang ups.
I like to space them about 12" apart with about 3 or 4 rows in the shadiest part of the dock.

I am assuming you are referring to the stake bed ... Are the anchoring PVC pipes at least 27' long with what you are saying and you can see the poles a foot under the water? And the other PVC pipes are 2' to 3' under the water? Just trying to better envision the picture ... a very good idea ... thanks for sharing

No, the poles on this rack are 10' long. the unit is suspended in the dock. base of rack is about 12' Below the surface. The poles driven in the water are only used in shallow water.

When I made these {racks} I used 1 1/2" sch 40 pvc for main beems. I would suggest using 2" sch. 40 pvc. the 1 1/2" became to brittle when the holes where drilled with all the weight. The other sizes were 1" and thin wall sdr 1/2" pvc for risers. All can be bought at Longhorn pipe cheap. These are 4 ft. x 10 ft. x 10ft. tall.
