I'm in.

I wonder if AJ's Fish house off 17 and 515 would be able to host the fry. Maybe our entry fee pays to rent out the place, they clean and cook, plus all the fixens. Donate extra to a good cause. 50 People at $50, that's $2500, it might not be enough to rent out the place, but $25 a person is a higher than their normal price.

I will donate my filet knife if needed as well.

We could definitely hold this at either Lake Fork Resort or Pope's. I heard Ernie and James talking about this exact idea awhile back. You could even invite the wives to come and the ones who don't want to participate can hang out in our pool at Lake Fork Resort and be there for the fish fry after!

Number 1 thing you are going to need is people to volunteer to clean fish. Having been a part of a similar event, there is always a mess of people willing to stand around and drink beer while a handful of guys try and clean a ton of fish.

Have a fish fry afterwards and donate the remaining fish or just let people take it home (there usually isn't as much left as people think after a fry). With good coordination, these events can be a ton of fun. We have done them for guadalupe bass on Lake Travis and for under slots on Bastrop.

I am not suggesting we clean the fish after the event. I am suggesting we have folks come to the weigh in and take them away. Working on that now.

I hate cleaning fish.

I might fish it, but I think you're going to have a difficult time finding anyone to take the fish unless they are filleted and well chilled or frozen.
And you should post this in the Whites, Hybrids section here. Those boys are serious about this stuff and could offer suggestions. They just ran a tourney on Tawakoni.

I wouldn't fish it because I live so far away, but if I was closer I would, be a nice and relaxing tournament, I could see this being a annual event, make it happen guys..

Think of it this way.......

Will it hurt anything??

No sir ..... it's a fine idea

and besides, they multiply like rabbits, so 5000 today is 100000 in a year.

I think that you should figure a way to open it up to Pontoon boats as well that would be willing to take a bunch of kids out. Make it a fun day and help achieve your mission of getting rid of some more white's!

I will not fish against anyone in a pontoon boat! wink

I'm going to offer a pressure washing service to clean all of the poop off of your boat after weigh in. Those are the poopingest things.

We will come fish it.

50 sandies per team to weigh in and a cash prize is awarded for the heaviest stringer and the biggest fish
I guess I'm the ultimate pessimst, I can see lines of people with 80-100 pounds of fish to weigh in, and then
someone has to clean all those, and imagine the throw-away, tons of garbage,...and who's going to fillet all that fish..
you'll need dozens of people...
sorry for being so gloomy,..cant help it.
I'm out,..
