On Memorial day Lake Somerville received 21 inches of rain. The maximum lake level is 20 feet above normal. The lake actually went 22 feet above normal and overflowed the uncontrolled spillway for 10 days. It finally stopped going over the uncontrolled spillway so I had to go out and fish the overflow basin. I was hoping to get into white bass and hybrids but ended up catching gaspergou. Oh well, if that's what's biting then that's what I'm fishing for that day.

I finally pinpointed them. They were right up against the retaining wall and on bottom. They wanted a very slow presentation as well. I ended up catching 14 and getting broke off 3 times. Goo are excellent fighters so it ended up being a fun evening of fishing.

Definitely looks like fun!!

You see any buffalo in with them? We have huge numbers of buffalo below the dam on Livingston, especially with big water releases.

Nice Drum! Those guys fight like crazy, and they fight all the way in. I love catching them, one of my favorite fish.

Yes, a massive amount of buffalo. Ben filmed them when the water was still overflowing. Hundreds of them in the calm pockets.

Nice catches. You are right about drum being hard fighters.

I was bass fishing once and thought I had a really big bass on. It was stripping drag a fighting like crazy. When I got it to the boat I discovered it was a goo about 2 - 2 1/2 pounds.
