I finally had a chance to get out on Lake Lavon Saturday morning. Launched the boat at Ticky Creek with a map in-hand and a full tank of gas. Fished timber in 15-25' water with white/chartreuse and black/chartreuse tube jigs on 1/8 ounce jig heads. Ended the day with 15 keepers and a few whites. The wind whipped me early so I switched to 1/8 oz heads to get in the zone faster. Most were suspended 12' deep. Lost a few really nice fish.

Overall, I was impressed with the lake and will be back. Not sure how to post pic yet.

Don't fall in love, Lavon is in the best shape its been in in MANY years. Don't expect it to stay this way.

Wife and I caught 5 keeper Crappie while bass fishing on 6/12. We caught them on small crankbaits and a spinner bait.

Nice!

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

It's nice to have so many options in this area. I live close to Grapevine, but it's still not right from what I hear.
