I'm headed up there this weekend to do some fishing. Will post a full report when I get back. Anybody fished there since the flood and have any tips? Mostly chasing crappie, bream and catfish. Might do a little bass fishing too.

Channel cats have been up shallow, had real good luck running trot lines on the edge of the brush line. Had to weed through a bunch of small ones but plenty of keepers too. Have to check the lines pretty often because they were getting on them about as fast as I could set them. Good Luck

Thanks! I was at Martin Creek yesterday in the same scenario. I'd get a bite within 30 seconds of dropping bait in the water but most of them were 10" fish. Lots of fun but keepers were few and far between.

Tried bank fishing there a few weeks ago. Nothing worth writing about but had a good time camping and fishing.

I have spent many hours feeding many different species of fish.........and on occasion land a few.

It wasn't bad despite the high water. Feedman was spot on with his suggestion. I ran a few lines right up against the trees and had fish on every time checked them.

I also came across an oddity on the back side of Watts Island. The wind was blowing up against a clay bluff and the waves lapping at it had turned the water the color of chocolate milk. There were baitfish breaking the surface and fish hitting the top everywhere. I assumed it was a school of white bass and threw a rattle trap in the middle of the mess several times without any takers. I finally saw a channel cat come to the surface and changed my strategy. After putting a little Stubby's on a treble hook, I started catching cats with almost every cast. Most of them were small but I pulled a few keepers out of the mud. Lots of fun anyway.
