I have an 8' Pelican Boat with a 2 HP motor. Are there any areas I can get to where the Sandies normally school? Would appreciate any info.

Most of the sandbass fishing on Eagle Mountain is in open water. A boat that size is pretty scary out in the middle of the lake. Johnny

I don't know about eagle mountain but used to fish for sandbass at grapevine all the time out of a 8 foot pelican. So if you wanna drive a little bit you could go there and fish the marina/dam area, area has some protection.

If the water clears up you might have a chance to fish just south of the island and find some schooling

I would suggest a week day if you are taking out a small boat. The boat traffic could be a little much on the weekends for a boat that size.
