Short answer "yes".
I think they have their place but I have caught several fishing it with a steady retrieve like a buzzbait.

Yes they work and you will see some unbelievable blow ups! Some of the most vicious strikes come on this bait! Definitely put one in your arsenal.

Heck yeah they work. I caught a 13.5incher just yesterday on mine. I think it was trying to mate with my bait.

However, my boys smacked them pretty good on Rayburn a few weeks ago. Violent strikes and nothing under 3lbs.

The 130 size is best. 1st color choice is Bone, then "Loon" (Black) then "I Know It" (White). Throw the Loon in low light and the Bone or White in brighter conditions. 50# braid and a pretty hefty 7' - 7'6" rod.

I was cruising Tackle Warehouses new products and found this:

I love fishing my 3 whopper ploppers (2 130's and 1 90). I'm going to have to try this buzzbait version when they become available. My experience so far has been in lakes with smallmouth. They absolutely crush them.

They definetly work but so far most of the fish I have caught were about the size of the plopper

Definitely... It can be loud when it hits the water but just let it sit until all the ripples have settled, then retrieve it. You can run it surprisingly close to vertical cover without hanging it up. Lots of fun to fish. The loon color looks like a coot running across the water!

love the whopper plopper; used it on a couple of private lakes and have probably caught 25-30 bass up to 4 pounds with it. one of my concerns is whether the spinning piece will break; so far so good.

I found another concern on Saturday. the lake I was on had some weird kind of grass (and very tough). some of it got in between the body part that doesn't move and the spinning part, which kept the spinning part from spinning. I noticed it was not working right after a couple of casts, but by then my line was so twisted that I could not cast anymore.

I took one to Canada this past week on a bear hunt that had Walleye & Pike Fishing available during the day.. The pike were crushing the Plopper! Made for a fun couple of hours, and the Canadian guide was pretty impressed with the bait when all said and done. He was sort of laughing at it at first, but i went up on him 5-1 pretty quick and he was a little quiet! lol

go big or go home.

Definitely a game changer been thowing it for years I used the 190 for fun fishing on Falcon it is truly awesome. The 90/130 one of the best kept secrets fishing central texas lakes.
