Decided to try some Carp fishing at one of the closed boat ramps on the lake. Took a can of sweet corn soaked in vanilla. Used a simple Carolina rig set up. Caught 2 buffalo, one at 12 lbs the other at 8. Had another fish break me off. I was using braid as a leader so not sure how big it was. Missed a few other bites.

On a side note, walked across the old Lake Dallas dam and saw a lot of baitfish. A few good sized dead hybrid stripes floating around. They looked more like they were caught and released dead. Once the water calms a bit, this should be a great place to fish.

Ken Good Park at Old Denton and Jackson had some big old carp in them, especially the south pond. Threw a couple of them back about a month ago. Not my thing.
