I wouldn't normally come on here to complain, but this particular guy is special. My wife and I were out around 8am and we were the only boat in sight for half hour...we got into a goodgroup of fish, when we see a boat in the distance coming towards us. The boat, I'm quite certain was a guide boat (not big crappie) pulled directly on us, talking a boat length and started fishing the hump we were on.ofcourse, they start catching fish...never said a word to us...we had a marker buoy out that they used to mark their fish...I realize I don't own the lake, but maybe a * you mind if we fish with you" might be nice....I see guide boats all the time catching fish, when I'm not catching anything...I never wld pull right upon them and start fishing..I guess I'm just respectful to other fisherman.....

and (not Chris Richardson).... I would have politely asked you to remove your boat from my fishing spot first haha banana

Seriously though, the ones that don't say anything are the ones that know better (especially when they wont even look at you). It happens man, its not right but it happens.
I had my wife and son out there Wednesday evening on the spillway hump. We located a school of hybrids up shallow and backed off of them on anchor. I'm try to stay off of shallow hybrids and keep the boat as far away as possible so they don't spook. I put the school at the limits of my cast for a reason.
fter about 5 minutes we were catching a fish every throw off the right front of the boat. A certain white haired fisherman that I see all the time on Cedar Creek comes in and sets up a drift up wind of us and on the left side where we are not casting. It think perfect hes going to stay off our fish but will probably still pick up a few himself. That goes on for a couple of drifts and then he cant stand to watch us catch them any longer. He idles is boat up our left side and then right across my bow and kills his motor right where my lure is landing to start another drift. We never catch another fish and my once excited boy doesn't get to net anymore fish... Talk about a pissed dad, mostly because he knew better. We ended up leaving that spot and caught them way better in another one so it all worked out.

One thing to keep in mind though. There is a lot of pressure to put people on fish when you're out guiding. Most good guides will try to keep their clients off of "community holes" or spots with boats but sometimes you have no choice but to join in. However, there is a right and wrong way to approach an area that is being fished by others. If he's even a decent guide he didn't need you or your marker to find fish. Its probably just a coincidence that you and your marker happened to be sitting in a spot that hes been catching fish on the last couple of days. I've had locals buzz by and see me killing the hybrids on a spot, then beat me to it the next day and suddenly I'm encroaching on their "spot" hahaha.

At the end of the day there are respectful fishermen, rude fishermen, and fishermen that just plain don't know any better. It's always been that way and always will be.

Got highjacked off a hump two days ago at tawakoni. had a marker out, only boat on the spot...
But, I was trolling so the guide assumed I had no idea of what I was doing

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

If someone comes up and monks with my fishing, they can have that spot but not before I get finished chopping it up with my motor. I can't help it, I create a lot of churn when I pull out.. LOL

Seriously guys. It's summer, better get used to. Jet Ski's, pleasure boaters, skiers and all types of fisherman. Rods bent is better than following the birds diving.

Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff.

You just described "people". Did you really think "people with a fishing rod" would be different? :-)

well did you offer a good morning up first?

then, if no reply, you can talk his ear off about some subject that might bore him green. have a good laugh over it when he leaves.

Man I'm always in a hurry at the ramp. Slow unloading cuts into my fishing time and slow loading makes me late for lunch or dinner roflmao

Flag me down next time I'd love to meet ya

I feel your pain!!! It happens a lot! Almost as bad as the guy that troll right beside you while you on spot lock! Had SEVERAL guys do this Saturday at LTSA tournament. Once we had three boat on spot lock within 50' from each other and a guy split us trolling! But there is a guide on Cedar Creek that is very disrespectful! Don't know his name but I do know his boat, he waked me in my kayak up in Kings Creek with a boat full of customers! I'll run into that Sea Hunt at a ramp on day!

I believe it was a guide boat because he had 3 older people on the boat and was taking the fish off the hook and giving instruction....I talked to several locals afterwards and they said the guy is a guide and is known for that type of stuff.....Funny thing is he left and I caught them for another hour.. banana
