First let me say that I don't fish Lake Fork a lot. That being said I fished my first Skeeter Owners Tournament this weekend. After three days of fishing 8 hours each day 6 on Sunday I found that the majority of fisherman that fished the Owners tourney fished deep. That is probably why I didn't do so well. Caught 12 fish on Friday all in less than 5 ft of water on a green senko, did have 1 fish 15 and 3/4 inches that weighed 2.60 on scale, wrong day. Saturday was really a good day even though it was really hot. Caught 26 fish with 8 in the slot biggest 5.80 lbs, and the rest below 12 inches again all on the geeen senko (big Bite)in 5 feet or less. All fish caught across from the public ramp 154 Hwy bridge, grass and moss out to 8 feet in areas. Sunday was the worst day for us only caught 6 fish all below 12". Overall I am happy with results even though didn't win anything. Ramp was crowded but everyone was a gentleman and launching went fine. Saw a lot of beautiful Skeeter boats out there. Hope this helps, you don't have to fish deep to catch fish. Water Temp 82 Clear to about 2 feet.

Based on my visual and audible observations, those of us fishing deep (or working in and out of shallows to 25 FOW) didn't fare too well! Never saw an LMB in my boat, saw one caught on the creek channel in Running near the roadbed that appeared to be 8". Then running back saw one netted in the slot on the stumped hump near the southern end of the guide cut on the west side. My friends fishing caught theirs shallow, so it looks like you did the right thing, just couldn't get the right bite.

Good report. I was convinced after fishing Friday and Saturday morning that there wasnt any decent fish shallow. We fished the hydrilla and ledges from 3-8ft and caught 2 small fish, both of went maybe 13-14 inches. We worked our way out deep and watched a guy catch one right at 7 and thought, well this is where they must be. We caught 2 fishing 25' of water on a drop shot and both of those went 13 inches. Caught 1 one on a c-rig that was also a dink but our biggest that went maybe 1.5lbs. Caught a few giant white bass on crankbaits though.

We debated fishing on Sunday at all, then it turned to, "we'll just go look for ducks" so we strolled out to the lake around 8am, then at the last minute we decided we'd fish this point since we didnt see any boats on it. Fished for a few hours and started deep and caught a couple more small fish immediately and a few more mag whites.

When do they put the ducks out? Friday or Saturday night, or both?

Ducks go out early Saturday morning, main boat lanes, and there aren't many. We stayed shallow shallow, and had 13 fish over two days up to 15.25 inches, and about 1.80 lbs. I slot 20.5 inches that went about 6 lbs. All in water less than two feet deep.

Well we had a good 2 days -- only no $$$$ fish. The unders were "too under" and the big ones were just "too short"
6 fish between 21 & 23 inches,, 2-5s & 4-6s,,,, lots of fish over 16 inches. Did get to weigh a 14 inch fish, but wrong hour..
All-in-all,,,,Fork was fun for 2 days. 6 times we thought we had a new Skeeter. I am renaming our spot,,,,,HEARTBREAK RIDGE.

well me and the gf her 1st my 2nd started out saturday morning they had been there for last 3 weeks or so even a few mag sandies. 3 weeks ago same day the JC outdoors had their open tourny we had 5 measured all 4 were 15.5" to 15.875" chuncks other was around 15" told her these fish will win us money in skeeters owner tourny but don't look forward to them still being here and of course next 2 weeks they all shrunk lol.. but started there anyway. got there early and told her it will suck watching all the bass hammering the shad before 6 but didn't happen only few were chasing shad but manage to get the 1st fish in and it was just under 16" so threw it in the box. caught a few more one 17+" and got hung up on one that was pretty good only boiled the top of the water but she found a stump under the water and left my bait their then nothing moved out to bout 18-20' and caught one bout 13" on c-rig. So moved to another spot and about 830 was gonna head in and weigh fish in measured it and it went over 16" by a hair after it flopped around measured the other side and it was under 16" turned it over same so in we headed got their measured it again and it was over 16" by a hair decided didnt want to chance it so headed back out. caught a chunk about 14.5" but decided not to weigh it in and release it and Measured the 16 1/16" one more time and decided to throw her back.grrrrrrrrrrrrr. so ended with 6 bites landed 4 and gf didn't get a bite she was mad too...

sunday: told her we may need to get to that spot little earlier cause few boats saw us catch the morning fish and sure enough pulled in there at 5:20 and boat sitting right on the spot. so stayed away bout 50 yards and went with what we had to deal with. she missed a pretty good fish came off right at the boat, so with that other boat not moving at all like we did sat and they watched us catch fish there sat and realizing fish wasnt there we made a move found a few fish chasing shad and she managed to fool it and put it in the boat i measured it and was 15.5" said she wanted to weigh it in the 1st hr said ok so in we went she was nervous told her just go weigh it in cause i wasn't for her lol. went 2.15 for 6th and she slipped to 10th at end and was sitting 2nd in ladies eventually slipped to 4th there.

it ended early for us about 10:30 as i broke my trolling motor cord so instead of tieing up to a stump and C_rig we went duck hunting but blanked on that. all in all she was happy and had fun just wasn't too happy sat for not getting a bite but she made up for it on sunday.

Congrats to all those who won a check too.
big thanks to Skeeter and Bass Champs for putting on a great tournament.
