Due to concerns regarding Zebra mussels, Wheeler Branch Reservoir will only allow kayaks, canoes and john boats without bilges, live wells or raised floors that can conceal water. No boats with gas powered motors are allowed.

If this is true, couldn't this be done on every lake in the USA?

Be safe,

Wheeler Branch is owned by the Somervell County Water District for the sole purpose of providing water for all county members. They are very worried about the possible effects of zebra mussels on the lake namely the pumps. Hate to hear this though. It's in my backyard and I prefer my bass boat over my kayak!
