Heading up to Broken Bow this Friday for a week and taking my skeeter. Does Broken Bow have a fishable population of catfish? Can't find much on the lake in terms of catfishing and was wondering if it would be worth it to take my catfishin gear. Going to do some crappie and bass fishing but the catfisherman in me still wants to chase whiskers at least once.

It's a deep cold water lake. About 180 feet deep by the dam. Smallmouth are good there and trout in the river below the dam can be fun. There are also some decent walleye. There are lots of rock about everywhere for cats to spawn. This time of year I think maybe Cat fishing would probably be best up in the Mountain Fork river as far as you can get. Beautiful place up there.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I didn't fish for them last year when I was there, but I visited with a few locals and they say it is an excellent channel cat lake. Seems like we caught a few while crappie fishing as well. The local guys talked about fishing the rocky bluffs for cats.

That's what I'm talkin bout! Thanks gentleman...guess I will fish for them on instinct. I'm hoping I can find some in the creek mouths on the lower or middle of lake...what branch did y'all crappie fish?
