 Networking HB 1198 to Another unit

I currently have a 1198 on the console. Wanting to add an inexpensive unit to the bow for locating waypoints and brushpiles crappie fishing. Need to be able to network the 2 units. What is a good unit for this purpose. I have came across a slightly used 788. Will this unit network and do the job I need?

Hummingbird site shows it to be Ethernet capable. It should network for uou

You just need a Humminbird graph that is ethernet capable. The 788 has ethernet so you should be good

You will need a Humminbird Ethernet Dongle to make the 788 ethernet capable. $25 part.

The 788 is gonna have to be the HD model in order for it network

788 ci sonar & GPS. Good condition and comes with transducer. You need to be aware of ALL of the 788 models. There are four of them. 788c Combo---------Sonar external GPS antenna 788ci Combo--------Sonar internal GPS antenna 788ci HD Combo-----Sonar internal GPS antenna 788ci HD DI Combo--Sonar/Down Imaging internal GPS antenna ONLY the two with HD in their model names are Ethernet capable. All four of them are INTERLINK connectable with the 1198c SI Combo. The AS INTERLINK has been discontinued and you may find some old stock or a used one.

Just so you know, that unit will not network with the 1198, if that is still what you are wanting to do.

Just so you know, that unit will not network with the 1198, if that is still what you are wanting to do. Yes it will as I described depending on which 788. The 1198c SI Combo is both INTERLINK and Ethernet capable.
