Every search ive done ive needed a serial # to complete. It will be a day or 2 before i can get that. Its a motorguide from 2009. Any ideas on where i might find a replacement part? Other option is trying to machine something myself. Either to replace the broken part or reinforce it..

How did that break? If the screws were in it there should have been no way it could have expanded and broke.

You might pull it out and clean it up and try to epoxy it. There shouldn't be a tremendous amount of lateral pressure on it with the screws in place.

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!

Not sure how it broke. Im assuming running into rocks or trees that are abundant on alan henry. It worked fine Thursday but friday morning it broke. Maybe i can get it out and glue it and build something to strengthen it up. Not sure how much force is put on it but with it broke you could hold foot pedal in one position and spin lower unit around all the way. Hoping i can get to my boat tomoro and see what i can do.if it was easy enuf to just by a replacement i would do that. I have enuf projects in my life now but if need be i can see what i can do. I just dont want to waste my next trip to the lake since its a drive to get to water around here..

Mine has the same parts. On mine that part is part of the bottom cover and cannot be taken out. You can use the year and model on Boats.net to find the parts use the search feature.I would try to epoxy it cut ditch with dremal fill with epoxy clamp closed with small C clamps. When cured usually 48 hrs remove clamps sand flat apply a good lube then give it a shot.

On mine I would have to replace the whole bottom cowling (for lack of better term) and that is not easy. Shame MG does not give maint. instructions to lube it every year or so.

I didnt have time to look at it much. Just enuf time to pull the cover and the inside screws and take a pic.. im thinking i could probably machine a piece or multiple pieces to shore it up, along with gluing. Thanks for input.
