I love the "rage rig" system, so I made a custom swimbait hook just to accommodate the baby rage craw. I used a 3/16oz mojo weight, 2/0 gama finesse hook, and pro-tec powdercoat paint. It looks killer underwater.

looks good! what kinda hookup ratio are you experiencing? i would think with the thickness of that rage craw, you would need to use an ewg hook.

The baby rager's body is like a 3'' senko. Look at the hook relative to the bait- the 2/0 spans the entire body, if I were to switch to a 3/0 it wouldn't work. Any time I start switching the hook up from the regular old offset hook pictured, i start losing fish. I also changed from gamakatsu to trokar- The trokar causes a tearable cut that puts huge holes in a bass jaw that they can shake the weighted hook out of. Don't get me wrong, there are times a trokar hook will really stick them and literally pop an eye out, but it was the only thing I changed and I lost more fish than I normally do.

I do not like EWG hooks except for the owner beast. I like the eye of the hook to be below the plane of the hook point.

Why this versus pegging a Tx rig?

Instead of sinking butt first and plopping straight to the bottom, it flutters slowly down with maximum appendage movement. Same premise as a wacky rig.

oh ok. i didnt realize the body was so thin. ive only used the regular sized ragecraw. i have also had buddies complain about loosing fish on trokars because they tear a hole as they penetrate.

^^that other hook in the picture I posted is literally a moaner hook next to my regular rage craw. Moaner hooks are huge and don't provide the same rigging options for the baby rage craw, which is why I made that hook. I actually learned about the rage rig from that flukemaster video, thank you for posting it. I appreciate everyone that took the time to respond to my thread.

Been throwing creature baits on a weighted hook for a while. Didn't know it had a special name...
