Been throwing creature baits on a weighted hook for a while. Didn't know it had a special name... It is called the "rage rig" because the bait of choice here is the Strike King rage craw. I have thrown baby brush hogs and flukes on a weighted hook for many years but as far as I know it was never given a name.

In your pics you it appears you don't use a screw lock bait keeper. Since pushing the rage craw over the weighted part of the hook would destroy the bait, do you have to cut the hook off, rig a bait on it, then re-tie it to your line?

^^^^^^ Easy to rig by pushing the eye of the hook into the bait from bottom of plastic

So every time your bait tears up would you have to cut off the hook to re-rig the new bait then re-tie? It looks great in the little pool video so I'm interested in trying it, just wondering about using a screw lock keeper.

To me, its no big deal since I can tie a palomar knot in about 20 seconds, and an improved clinch knot in about 15 seconds if I have enough light to see. In addition to that, I use this set up with light line and the fish usually throat the tiny bait. For this reason, line gets frayed so I retie after a couple fish regardless of whether or not the lure is damaged. It would be cool to have a custom finesse hook with a screw lock, but this suffices.
