Keith is one of the nicest Elites I've ever met. I was completely blown away by how much information these guys share on the water. Every time we got close to another angler they would tell each other exactly what they had and exactly what they were using. No bs going on whatsoever. At around 1:30 we ran into one of the guys that will also be fishing Sunday, Keith ask him what he had and he says two small spots is it! Keith immediately tells him what the fish are doing and even flips his bait into his boat so he can see it. That's class right there guys. I sat in the back of the boat thinking here these guys are competing for $100,000 and they share way more information than these guys fishing for $500 on the weekends. Heck I've even seen friendships ended over a couple hundred bucks on the lake. I also rode with Hank Cherry and Justin Lucas. I will post more about my experience later. Good luck out there this weekend and stay classy on the water

That would be cool just to listen to the interaction between them, sounds like a fun day.

Sounds like a fun day! We were out on Thursday and watched Keith and Hank Cherry for a few minutes. If you were with Cherry on Thursday, I got some photos while on the water. There's one of them in the photo section under "BASSfest"

It's tough and lonely out there on the Tour if you don't have some friends. They all pretty much have a group that work with each other. Usually a half dozen guys or so who are close. Often they travel together. That's the best info they get. Lots info and baits being exchanged between the Tournament Anglers.

You need to make the cut a high percentage of the time. They try to help their friends stay above the cut line if they can. They know sooner or later they will need some info they can use.

I was a Marshall with Chris Lane, Kota Kiriyama and Luke Clausen. All three shared detailed information with any questions I asked and volunteered much more. I learned so much and had such a great time that I can't wait for the opportunity again.

I judge the TTBC's and fish as a Co on the central opens. I have seen pros do this more times than I can recall. The only sport where guys help their competition beat them. Awesome sportsmanship.

I was marshal for Skeet Reese on Tuesday and Randall Tharp on Wednesday. I had a blast and learned a lot. Around noon on Wednesday, Randall snapped his line in a tree and asked me, "Do your boys know how to tie a snell?" Randall gave me a detailed demonstration of how to tie a snell and why it works when flipping a craw. He went slow and allowed me to record it all on my phone for my boys. Taking 5 minutes out of your day doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is when you are on the clock in an elite series tournament.

I will do it again, for sure, and encourage everyone to do it at least once.

I see Tak and Niggemeyer are friends, If that possible then I am sure those two can get over it.

Cool story koko! I've fished as a Co in a few Opens and yeah they've always asked how the other was doing, if they had hit other areas, etc. Of course usually they started off with "hey get off my water" lol said very jokingly!!
